Resources to Vote Your Values
Election Day in America is just days away—November 3, 2020—and our great nation needs you.
Yes, you.
Your vote matters.
And together we can make a positive difference in the land that we love and for the people who live in the United States.
Why is this election so important?
Every election is important, but there is more on the line in this presidential election than any other in our lifetime.
Never before have the differences between two candidates been more stark. It isn’t too much to state that:
The future of the nation we know and love is at stake.
And the results will determine the direction of our country for many years to come.
Consider where each candidate stands on the issues of abortion (killing human babies before they are born) and the sanctity of life. Will you stand up for those who have no voice?
What about traditional marriage and family issues? Religious liberty and freedom? Education?
And help for those in need, like those caught in the modern-day slavery of human trafficking, and so many Americans living in poverty?
Here are some excellent resources for people of faith to consider before you vote in this highly consequential selection:

What can you do to make a difference in the 2020 Election?
1) Vote. You live in a free country and have the privilege to vote. You have a voice—you have a say—in the matter of who will be our highest elected official in the country. Your vote matters. Vote and encourage others to vote.
2) Vote your values. Become informed about the differences between the two parties. Make your voice heard on the issues that matter to you and your family and community. Vote the platform, not necessarily the person.

It’s a clarion call to “Pray, Think, and Vote”—to stand boldly for the values of religious freedom, the sanctity of life, strong marriages and families, and compassion and support for those in need.

• View information about party platforms.
• Discover how you can take action and get involved.
• Use prayer guides for the election and other issues.
3) Pray! With humble confidence, come boldly to the Lord in prayer and ask for His wisdom as to how you should vote on these important issues.
The values we hold to as believers—for life, for religious liberty, for marriage and family values, and for so much more. Thankfully, we can have hope. God is sovereign and in control. We can pray, believe, and trust in Him.
I want to close with these stirring words written by Dr. James Dobson in his October 2020 newsletter [excerpted]:
With all respect, this election isn’t about you. It certainly isn’t about me. It is about our kids and grandkids. It is about those who are yet to come, if they are allowed to live. This vote has awesome implications for future generations and the nation we love. It is about our Constitution and the immutable, God-given rights it protects. It is about values, and truth, and greatness, and hope. That is why the notion of choosing a president based on frivolous personality characteristics is so unfortunate.
In summary, this election is for all the marbles . . . the Presidency, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. Together, they set the agenda for this country.
If you love America and don’t want it to be “fundamentally transformed,” it is time to do three things:
1. Pray like never before that God will spare this great nation from tyranny and oppression of religious liberty.
2. Volunteer to help your candidates.
3. Vote for the candidates who will best uphold your values and convictions.
Now more than ever, your vote matters. Vote your values. Make it count. And make a difference for the future of our country—for generations to come.
